Robertus Getz

Scrabulator Melior: Stephanus Pelle

Scrabulatrix Bona: Jessica Lockhart

Twelve people showed up to compete for the title this year, in a renewal of an interrupted tradition. 2004 Scrabulator Optimus Morris Tichenor was taken out in the first round by Chris Piuma, who then fell to two-time winner, Dr. Rob Getz. Rob took down Anna Wilson to advance to the finals, where he faced Stephen Pelle, fresh from his defeat of this year's third-place competitor, Jessica Lockhart. In an exciting final match, both players played scrabbles (all seven tiles) in their first play of the game, setting a standard of excellenct that followed through to the end. Despite stiff competition from Stephen, Rob managed to keep his second-round lead, established by his second scrabble of the game in as many turns, all the way to the end, and his third Latin Scrabble title. Plays and photos may be found here.
